Characters

Ishara Yamagatchi
Ishara is your average Japanese schoolboy. Enrolled in the all-encompassing Hakkekkyuu school building, Ishara has lived in the city long enough to be considered his own disaster area. He enjoys video games, candy, and all the small things in life. He is extremely competitive, but for the most part, is very friendly. Ishara's mother died when his brother, Ihara was born. Despite that, he still maintains an air of optimism wherever he goes.
Allen Dokujumo
A self-obsessed, obnoxious muscleman. His hobbies include hitting on girls and playing a wide variety of sports. While he is insensitive most of the time, he can be a real pillar of support for many of his friends. Allen and Ishara have been friends for years, even if Allen has a tendency to bully him some of the time.
Alexis Kyomi
A sweet young woman who recently moved to Hakkekkyuu from the country. Her parents are both rich and powerful, so she enjoys many of the luxuries of life, and is somewhat spoiled. She is faithfully in love with Ishara, but tends to argue with him quite a bit when she doesn't get her way. She is still just getting used to the havoc that occurs regularly in her new home, but seems to be adapting quite well.
Liana Takeshi
The oldest sibling of three and the top of her class in athletics and academics, Liana is a strong woman that is known by just about everyone in Hakkekkyuu. She is an upstanding, resolute member of her community and will not tolerate anything less than full dedication from her fellow students. She's very good friends with Alexis, and helps her out regularly. While she is a kind person, her irritability and sarcasm sometimes cause people to wonder about her.
The Mayor of Hakkekkyuu
Also the principal of Hakkekkyuu Grade/Junior/High University, The Mayor is a figure of absolute power in the region under his jurisdiction. His word is unchallenged by the populace and very rarely does the national government intervene with his bizarre actions. He is devoted to his city, and will assuredly (although overzealously) defend it from any who would dare harm it. The only check to his power is the word of the Class President of the school, a position of authority held by Blue Takeshi.
Blue Takeshi
Blue is the middle child of the Takeshi Siblings, and an expert when it comes to science and technology. He is Ishara's best friend and classmate, and offers a down-to-earth perspective for Ishara when he gets out of control. He takes this same skill to his position as Class President, when he tries to make sure the Mayor doesn't make rash decisions. Most of the time, his viewpoint is simply overruled.
Garreck Kaimasu
The mysterious salesman in charge of the Hakkekkyuu General Store, he has anything that anyone could possibly purchase in his store, and several things that would otherwise be impossible to obtain, such as surplus military equipment, nuclear reactors, and lunar real estate. Apparently the government turns a blind eye to his transactions, since it is rumored that they purchase materials from his wares as well. Kaimasu means "buy" in Japanese.
Ryouta Yamagatchi
The widower father of Ishara and Ihara, Ryouta is a salaryman for Hakkekkyuu General Electric. He is kind and laid-back, but will step in with authority when his children are getting out of line. He doesn't tolerate disrespect, and for the most part, he doesn't have to discipline his children very often. Ryouta is also good friends with James Anakaryu.
Seņor Spiffy
The owner and head chef at Spiffy's Italian Bar and Restaurant, Spiffy is an immigrant from Italy to achieve his dream of spreading the love of Italian cuisine across all of Asia. It's not working out too well, but he is a good friend and mentor to Ishara and friends, as well as a good tutor of Spanish, even though he's not. His past remains a mystery: it's rumored that he used to own a toy store and served on the police force.
Gooka
Gooka is a bizarre life-form with the ability to shape his molecular structure into an indefinite number of forms, granting him the power of transformation. He works as an English teacher at Hakkekkyuu's school, dedicated to teaching his pupils "real" English. He claims that he came to Japan from America, but this is unverified.
James Anakaryu
A history teacher working at Hakkekkyuu's school, James is a highly educated man in the realms of world culture. He has never married, or even had a girlfriend, but fell head over heels in love with the new math teacher, Aki. James's awkward actions often end up with him embarassing himself, but he is a determined man who puts his responsibility as his top priority. James is also a vegetarian.
Ramen
An exchange student from China, Ramen was actually born to Japanese parents who work across the world. Ramen is competitive to a fault, and always gives in to Ishara's ridiculous challenges to video game competitions. Other than that, he's stoic, quiet, and for the most part stays out of everyone's way. He's actually warmed up to Ishara and Blue, and talks with them regularly now.
Dr. Franz Fliderstein
A science teacher from Germany, Fliderstein is a man shrouded in mystery. He is extremely intelligent, and puts his knowledge to good use as a teacher, but it's believed that he actually does weapons research and development for both the local and national government. Nobody knows whether or not this is true.
Ooka
Gooka's cousin, and a seasoned teacher himself, Ooka teaches in the Hakkekkyuu Grade School in order to mold young minds to thoughts of peace, equality, and environmental protection. Ooka is just as enigmatic as his younger cousin, but people don't seem to mind the fact that he's an unknown intelligent species. He is also an artist and runs a disco club.
Ihara
Ishara's little brother, Ihara is far more into trends and fads than his older brother. He also gets into a lot more trouble. Regardless of all, he's a good little brother and always defends Ishara's name so that he can slander it himself later. Ihara is the ringleader of the group composed of Kamari, Kagatchi, and himself. Ihara never knew his mother, since she died the day Ihara was born. Regardless, he is loved by the rest of his family.
Kagatchi
Yet another enigmatic figure in Hakkekkyuu, Kagatchi is clad in a gray robe and is forever dedicated to his dream of conquering the city. For some reason, the Mayor doesn't care, since he must not view Kagatchi as a big threat. In all reality, he isn't, but he's still a really mean guy. Nobody knows what's under the robe either. Ihara is always trying to find that one out.
Aki Yoshimura
The very attractive math teacher at Hakkekkyuu's school, James has made it his goal to get her to fall in love with him, even though it doesn't always work out. Aki's duty to her students usually makes her either indifferent or annoyed by James's ridiculous pleas for attention.
Kamari Takeshi
The youngest of the Takeshi siblings, Kamari is Ihara's girlfriend and absolutely loves Kiwi. Kiwi was banned by the Mayor of Hakkekkyuu years ago for reasons unknown, so she quests desperately to find her forbidden favorite food in her free time.
Mio Dokujumo
Allen's mother, Mio was left by her husband when Allen started High School. She's a tough, somewhat pushy woman who works in the Hakkekkyuu Steel Factory. She has recently been looking for a new boyfriend, but has had little luck in her endeavors.
Hakkekkyuu Gopher Guild
A workers union with the important duty of rebuilding the city when it is damaged by the many bizarre occurences that seem to take place in their jurisdiction. They are apparently underpaid and underappreciated, but their sheer numbers and skill enable them to restore the city to pristine condition overnight.
Sasha Takeshi
The sickly mother of Liana, Blue, and Kamari, Sasha is a widow who tries her best to make ends meet for her children. She is unable to do most work, but still manages to support them. Her children make many sacrifices to see to it that everything in their life is kept together.
Tohru Kyomi
Tohru is the father of Alexis, as well as the President and CEO of Hakkekkyuu General Electric, the largest company in the city. He's a rich and powerful man, but he loves his daughter and spoils her on occasion. For some unkown reason, the company headquarters for his particular business is in Osaka. He wants to leave his company to Alexis when he retires.
Ayame Kyomi
An actress, model, and mother, Ayame is as rich and famous as her husband, and equally dedicated to her daughter. She worries about Alexis incessantly, even when there is usually nothing to worry about. She has many fans from around the world, and hopes Alexis will follow in her footsteps.
Princess Lilly
The daughter of the Mayor of Hakkekkyuu. A daddy's girl and drama queen, Lilly came to Hakkekkyuu for her 16th birthday with the intent to take over the city for herself, as she is used to getting anything she wants. It's obvious that making executive decisions on a whim seems to run in the family.
